2005 Bob Sullivan / PL Jones 47' Express (Custom Carolina)
Custom Carolina boats feature a huge sharp entry bow with extreme flare and a broken sheerline that steps down about where the cabin and cockpit meet. The deep-V hull transitions to a shallower or flat bottom aft, and the flared bow transitions to tumblehome (narrower above waterline) aft. These design features allow the vessel to cut through and deflect waves for a drier softer ride, along with speed and efficiency. The composite plank on frame construction helps keep the vessel's weight down for greater speed and less draft. The high freeboard at the bow helps the boat take on rough seas.
