By 1990 age had taken its toll and the grand-daughter of AG Bell started a planned restoration, however it wasn't feasible. A local resort stepped in and assumed ownership of Elsie. She received thousands of hours(1993-96) by numerous craftsman and tradesman who erased the effects of time.
