2014 Back Cove 37 Downeast, COOKIE MONSTER
Founded over 20 years ago, Back Cove draws on its Downeast Maine boatbuilding heritage to produce an award-winning line of beautiful day or weekend cruisers. Recognized worldwide for its signature Downeast style, the Back Cove 37 is a classically beautiful, functional, efficient, and seaworthy sedan cruiser with a large open cockpit, ideal for entertaining guests and enjoying the ride. Although built on seaworthy, rugged Maine lobster boat hull, the Back Cove hull and cabin have been modified for comfortable pleasure cruising, easy operation and maintenance.
COOKIE MONSTER features the optional Cummins QSC8.3 600hp engine and optional Lenco Autoglide trim tab leveling system, along with SidePower SE80 bow and stern thrusters for plenty of power, a smooth ride, and easy docking. This Back Cove Downeast 37 model offers a comfortable, well-appointed raised forward cabin with two private staterooms, full head with separate shower layout, and classic Herreshoff styling—white panels with raised wood trim. Perfect for overnighting. The fully functional galley includes a Cuisinart convection microwave oven, electric 2-burner glass cooktop, and is mid-level, a step down from the salon/pilothouse, on the portside. The climate-controlled enclosed salon has plenty of seating with built-in storage below and a custom shaped table. Dual helm chairs are mounted on a cabinet, providing excellent 360-degree visibility. COOKIE MONSTER’s helm has been upgraded with two 7” Garmin displays. Full beam cockpit is on the same level and the double swing bi-fold glass doors open the salon for one large social area. Cockpit features corner L-settees with classic nautical striped cushions and entire cockpit can be shaded by a retractable SureShade. Wonderful for sunset cruises and cocktails on the bay, river, or lake.

“The Back Cove 37 continues the practical features that have identified the Back Cove range of down east style motor yachts: Usability, low maintenance and fuel efficiency. In the master stateroom there is an island berth for ease of egress, and for stowage of owner’s gear, there are many lockers and drawers provided. To starboard aft of the master is a full guest cabin with a pullman berth and ample storage capacity. Opposite and to port is a large head unit with separate stall shower. Between the lower and salon sole levels, the mid-galley is fully equipped with a refrigerator, freezer, microwave oven and deep stainless steel sink as well as many drawers and lockers for galley storage. Large windows overhead provide the galley with ample visibility and light. In the salon twin Stidd helm seats are provided for the helmsman and crew. Aft of the helm is an L-Shaped settee and to port a two person love seat. An elegant inlaid table offers a comfortable space for dining with crew and guests. Large windows offer plenty of light and air while overhead a large sliding pilot hatch allows air to flow through the salon. At the aft end of the main salon large swing-bi-fold doors completely open up the salon to the cockpit. At the transom, fixed seating will provide the comfort you desire for socializing with guests.”
