SILVER FOX is a well-maintained C. Raymond Hunt designed 2006 40' Albin North Sea Cutter, hull #12, purchased by her owners two years ago. She offers low-hour twin Cummins main engines, low-hour Onan 9 kW generator, beautiful interior fit and finish and a large, Isinglass enclosed flybridge with bimini top. Her 17' 5"' height and 4' draft make her a Great Loop capable cruiser. Her two side fuel tanks have been upgraded to aluminum with a total capacity of 290 gallons. Her sellers have wrapped up their cruising plans, so SILVER FOX is now seriously for sale.
SILVER FOX is a two Stateroom, two Head layout with the Salon and Galley on the deck level. The interior is bright and airy with Teak and Holly soles and fine woodwork throughout.
Specifications
The concept in speed, performance and layout was developed from the fast patrol boats of the North Atlantic where treacherous seas continually test a vessel’s seaworthiness. There can be no compromises with these boats and the Albin 40 North Sea Cutter is no exception. At the heart of this Cutter you will find the latest development in Ray Hunt design. The hull's sharp entry, allows for a smooth ride in pounding surf and overall engineering enables easy handling in head, following and quartering sea conditions. The design concept of the Cutter class sets the Albin 40 North Sea Cutter apart from conventional cruisers in terms of both seaworthiness and performance. This is a "no nonsense" vessel for the Yachtsman who respects high performance under the most adverse conditions at sea. Dependable, twin diesel engines are standard. Capable of mid 20 knot speeds with her Cummins 370hp engines. The Albin 40 North Sea Cutter is remarkably stable and maneuverable.
Redefining Interior Comfort. Once you've boarded the 40 North Sea Cutter, you'll find an interior layout that is far from that of a conventional yacht. For example, the Primary Owner's Stateroom is located forward of the Main Salon. Its Island Queen Berth is on the centerline and features wide walkarounds. This Stateroom also features an ample enclosed En-Suite Head to starboard, and a separate enclosed En-Suite Shower to port, with plenty of storage.
The Main Salon is bright, uncluttered and very accommodating. An L-Shaped settee is opposite a well-equipped Galley. A fully equipped lower helm is to the starboard side. There are two opening side doors leading out to their respective side decks. Toward the stern, the full beam Aft Cabin with its own private En-Suite Head is a versatile space. It can be a Den or Library for liveaboards, so it can expand the utility of the Salon. Or it becomes a Guest Stateroom or a Bunkroom for children. It’s large U-Shaped Settee with its foldout and lowering table with filler cushions becomes a full-sized berth.
The aft Aft Cabin door opens to a generous full-sized Cockpit. That’s very unusual and welcome in a Trunk Cabin style vessel. Great for dock line handling, dinghy boarding, swimming, fishing, etc. A few steps up on starboard side is the entrance up to the Trunk Cabin deck, and then up several more steps is the Isinglass Enclosed Flybridge with a fully equipped second Helm Station and plenty of seating and storage.
The Albin Cutter is an innovative concept in performance and luxury. For the Yachtsman who wants more than just another cruiser, SILVER FOX is the one to consider. Take the helm of the Albin 40 North Sea Cutter and you take command of one of the finest vessels on the market today.
From the Swim Platform, you walk through an opening Transom Door onto the Aft Deck full depth Cockpit. From there, you can walk forward on either Side Deck. You can step up to the Trunk Cabin and Flybridge from the starboard Side Deck or walk forward on either Side Deck to the Foredeck or Salon Side Deck access doors. Once inside the Salon, you will find the fully equipped Lower Helm starboard forward, Primary Stateroom centerline entrance forward, Side Deck access door port forward, Settee and hi/lo folding teak table port aft, Guest Stateroom entrance aft and Galley-Up to starboard. Engine room access is via Salon sole hatches.
Main Salon:
The Deck Level Salon has pilothouse doors to port and starboard for easy side deck access. The Helm Station is starboard and forward. The Up-Galley is on the starboard side aft. There is an L-Shaped settee with expandable table to the port side and aft. The side windows open for that airy feeling. The sole is Teak and Holly. Engine and mechanical access is through opening hatches in the center of the Salon.
Pilothouse Helm:
Galley:
The Up-Galley is located on the starboard side in the Main Cabin Salon. Large SS sink, full sized two door refrigerator/freezer. Plenty of cabinet and drawer space.
Primary Stateroom:
Unique to the Albin 40 North Sea Cutter is that the Primary Owner’s Stateroom in located in the bow. It has a centerline Island Queen Berth with lots of storage underneath. There is an En-Suite Head located on the starboard side with a Shower located on the portside.
Primary En-Suite Head to Starboard:
Primary En-Suite Shower to Port:
Guest Aft Stateroom:
Also unique to this model Albin is the “swiss army knife” concept of the full beam Aft Cabin. In addition to its function as a Stateroom with En-Suite Head – it has the ability of being an ideal second seating area with its large U-Shaped Settee with Hi-Lo table. Lots of storage and shelf space. And its design provides for a nice walkout passageway to the aft cockpit.
Aft Cockpit:
In a Trunk Cabin style vessel, a FULL COCKPIT is very unusual. All other designs have a raised sole on the cockpit and not worthy of being called a “cockpit”. These bulwarks are full “cockpit” height and very safe for dock handling, kids, dogs, etc.
Flybridge:
Up three steps from the Trunk Cabin top is the enclosed Flybridge.
