Hatteras Yachts Launches Design For New Raised Pilothouse 105

Hatteras Yachts CEO and President Kelly Grindle used the excitement of the 2018 Miami Yacht Show on Collins Avenue to announce a new motor yacht project following the success of the 100’ Raised Pilothouse launched in 2014.

The factory in New Bern, North Carolina has designed the next evolution in its motor yacht fleet and it will be called the Hatteras 105 Raised Pilothouse. Known for setting trends in design and construction, Grindle commented, “The Hatteras 105RPH will be our largest resin-infused hull to date and to our knowledge, the largest single part to be infused in the US.” The vacuum-bagged, resin-infused hull and deck will provide for a stronger, more durable hull while also decreasing the weight of the boat which in turn will boost the yacht’s performance. And with a draft of 6.2-feet, the Hatteras RP105 has the ability to take new owners from New England to the Bahamas with ease.

A noticeable feature of the new RP105 is the large, great room on the main deck towards the bow of the yacht. Reminiscent of a ballroom, this area is perfect for large events aboard the yacht as it provides amazing views from the full-length windows that line each side. Imagine hosting a gala in this great room at night with the moon and stars reflecting off of the sea, the RP105 is the perfect motor yacht for entertaining large numbers of guests comfortably.

The new Hatteras 105’ Raised Pilothouse will be offered in two distinct layout options. Owners will be able to choose between having a luxurious master suite on the main deck or a massively spacious galley forward for the owner that spends more time entertaining than cruising. Either option comes with the signature Hatteras skylights that offer unobstructed views of the night sky or fill the rooms with natural light during the day.

The popular Caterpillar C-32A diesel engines have been selected as the power option of choice for the RP105 and will push out 1,900hp each, giving the yacht the cruising speed that owners desire. The fuel capacity on board will be over 4,600 gallons so owners will enjoy the extended cruising capabilities aboard the RP105 along with the fuel efficiencies earned from the hull design and construction.

Much like the new Hatteras M90 Panacera, the 105 Raised Pilothouse will also come with the innovative Hattcon yacht management system that owners have been raving about. Hatteras’ new Hattcon system integrates almost all of the electronics on board including the navigation, monitoring, and automation systems into one touchscreen platform that is extremely intuitive. This relieves new owners from having to figure out how to use each system individually.
